Training: Customizing Heat Transfer and Pressure Drops
The
default FLUINT assumptions are of quasi-steady fully-developed
flow in near-circular smooth-walled, straight passages. While
convenient and simple, extensive customizations are possible
for the exceptional cases: rough walls, noncircular passages,
non-isothermal walls, entrance effects, rarefied flows, near-critical
fluids, curvature, ribs, and even natural (instead of forced)
convection. The customizations are available in single- or two-phase
flows. This class will summarize available customizations, describing
the underlying system for modifying or replacing defaults, including
creating your own correlations.
Prerequisites: Basic
understanding of FLUINT.
