Littleton, Colorado, October 3, 2005 An agency-wide contract is now in place with C&R Technologies, Inc to provide thermal/fluid analysis capability through SINDA/FLUINT, SinapsPlus, Thermal Desktop, RadCAD, and FloCAD Software. Collaboration with nine NASA Centers (LaRC, GRC, WSFC, GSFC, MFSC, KSC, JSC, JPL, ARC) has led to the implementation of this contract. LaRC procurement department has developed the contract and Purchase Requests (PRs) from each NASA Center have already been assigned to it; thus far PRs from all Centers have been received, and the first order has been placed. This is the first NASA agency-wide contract for a thermal analysis software package, and marks a milestone in cooperation and synergy between the Centers. This will drop cost of the software by 50% due to consolidated licensing, save time at all Centers in writing PRs and sole source agreements, and improve communications between Centers. This contract gives many of the NASA Centers, who have small license volumes, the opportunity to group their license together for substantial quantity discounts.
