I am having a problem, that when I click on an option such as rcnode, or adding a conductor..the crosshair disappear. I can see the different parts highlight as the invisible crosshair passes over it, but I can't see where the crosshair is. This is making it difficult to select specific nodes.

How do I keep my crosshair visible even when I am adding to the model?

Thanks!

I figured it out. My background was white, and so was the crosshair color. I went to Tools>Options>Display>Colors where I am able to control the crosshair color and background color.

I came across this issue in solid-shaded mode when viewing the model from an orthogonal view (top, left, front, etc), and even when just slightly off of those views. At these times, the crosshairs were the same color as the background. When the viewing vector is more than several degrees from one of the coordinate axes, then the crosshairs assume the color assigned to them on the Display>Colors form.

It turns out that in orthogonal and near-orthogonal views in 3D parallel projection, the crosshairs revert to the color defined for 2D model space. In my case, I had a black background for 2D model space and white background in 3D parallel projection. In the near-orthogonal views, the crosshairs changed to white, which is meant to contrast with the black 2D model space background. This caused the crosshairs to blend into my background in the shaded view. By changing the 2D model space background to white to match the 3D parallel projection background, the crosshairs where black in the orthogonal and near-orthogonal views.
