Sometimes my models randomly think that I am trying to enter walk & fly mode when I select 3D orbit. I am prompt to change to perspective view, which I don't want to enter. I can select "Cancel" and the prompt will continue to pop up. I can edit viewing options and try to return to "parallel" but it never is permanent. I looked up this problem online, elsewhere, and it seems the only solution I have found comes in the form of replacing the file FixedProfile.aws with another user's file (someone in the office) that is not "corrupted" by this problem. Any other suggestions?

This worked for me. I have encountered this same problem multiple times and it worked each time:

Delete the ‘FixedProfile.aws’ file which is normally found at C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2009\R17.0\enu\Support\Profiles. The file can safely be deleted. It contains user profile settings related dialog positions and sizes. It will be programmatically created on exit if missing.

You will need to restart your machine after completing the step above
